Ibsen, What are you doing up in the wee hours of the morning. If I'm on call, I have an excuse, What's yours?

Victor, My wife loves crosswords. I usually just help her bust them but do them myself at times.

Joe,

We were probably "too cool" to take pictures at Strazi's. Would love to see some too. Have often tried to explain that place and what went on to my kids. Words are not adequate!!

Joe,
I spoke with Patricia Strazi a few months ago and asked her for Strazi's photos.Since Papa Joe didn't have children, she got most of his things, including boxes of pictures and she feels sure there are some of the place. If you email her and confirm this,I'll bet she'll bring them to the reunion.Benny Strazi's sister-in-law works for brother Michael at Johl and Bergman and I'll get Michael to ask Benny or Sharon to get up with Patricia about the pics.

Does anyone remember ordering the "HB Special" at Strazi's? Named after Hank Burdine. Orange juice with cherries, brought 2/3's full so you could spike it with whatever. All you had to do was turn your lights on and ask.

George Sherman

Randy,
Don't remember the HB Special but Donnie Maranto,Bobby Evans and Tommy Fisher may want to tell the story of how I got "banned from the curb" of Strazi's for two months by Jimmy Word for ordering the Sheepherder's Special.

Been there done that. I still order it at home all the time. But I substitute Gin for the milk.

Randy,
You stated that you "ordered" it all the time at home, but the lingering question is: Does the order get filled?

05/14/09 04:26 PM #1437

Mary Pryor Anthony (Sherman)

Had totally forgotten about the 'HB special.' Loved 'em. Joe didn't remember those either. Were all the St. Joe boys drinkin' cherry cokes? I also remember vanilla cokes.
Evidently ,I had discriminating tastes:)

Those St.Joe boys couldn't roll with the Hornets. George, As far as my order being filled, There's a very narrow window titrated just right with gin, white wine, and punctuated with a big ole smile. Most times I just get served a "maple float" Ha!

George and Danny,
I'd love to be at that lunch. Can't wait to hear about it.

Mary Pryor, Randy, Susan Hughes and Ricky are avowed crossword puzzlers. Any others? What about your Shermans and other St. Joe folk?

By the way, does anyone remember Dorothy Davis singing either "Ave Maria" or "O Holy Night" at a school talent show or Christmas program? If so, when was that? And has anyone heard anything from or about Dorothy? Wonderful voice! Beautiful person, too: inside and out.
