Kenny...I had no idea that your folks owned the Douglas Hotel. And I did not know all the history that you gave about it. Yes, I knew Mr. Red Brown. Nice man. I would watch him with "that thing" on his eye looking at some watch and I wanted so badly to take a look. Never did. Was there a huge Elk head mounted on the wall in the corner of the lobby?

yes it was. MR BROWN LET ME LOOK THROUGH IT I WAS A VERY GOOD MAGNAFIER BUT IF YOU OPENED THE OTHER EYE IT LOOKED LIKE YOU TOOK LSD.AND WAS ON A BAD TRIP I USE TO PUT MY FINGER IN FRONT OF THE NONE MAG. EYE IT WAS A TRIP.I FOUND A $100 DOLLAR BILL IN THAT ELK HEAD.I BET IT WAS YOURS TOO. KENNY

Danny, looks like you're 3 for 3! I was an Adam fan from the beginning but I always pick the one who comes in 2nd. So I knew Kris would probably win, and that's ok, too. Funny...Idol is the only TV show I try not to miss. In fact, it's prob the only one I can name! I am usually too busy outside to watch TV. After the sun sets I can usually be found reading a great book (unless there's a party going on!) Some things never change. :)

Thanks for the compliments. You have six kids?! WOW. Kids are great, aren't they---and expensive! Now that Beth-Leah is in the third grade (she skipped a grade) and David starts pre-K in the fall I will have some "me" time--finally! Joe's retired but I can always suggest that he should go rangle up some venison so I could enjoy the "me time!" He is an avid hunter (deer, turkey, quail, etc.) and eagerly anticipates each season>

Becky, that is seriously mean, since you know I will probably never see a Shipley's donut again...I will tell you, Greenville, MS is truly the home of some unforgetable food...Doe's, Pasquales, Frostop, Shipley's, Cow Pen..of course, I know the Cow Pen is not really in Greenville (at least it wasn't last time I was there), but close enough. Makes me really miss home, now, don'tcha feel bad?...lol.
