Brenda Connelly (Swartwout)

Diane Brent Dantone,
This reunion would be perfect if you could come. If there is any possibility that things could work out, my offer still holds. Since you are beautiful AND single, you never know who you would meet! I keep hoping that you will find a way to come.

Yea I think Jennifer did a great job. She has been instrumental in getting grants to work on the old city pool, which is in a terrible state of disrepair. A good person!!

Becky Wilson (Roe)

I second that motion Brenda. Diane, you should come.

After a day in court, I vote that you go home and tell Jim that you are in need of a spa day.

I am back. My spa day was great but when I looked in the mirror, no change. Just wanted you all to know that my sister and I wanted to keep the Shipley thing going so we built and ran the Shipley Do-Nuts in Starkville from the ground up in 1993. Very hard work and being at work at 4am is not my idea of fun. Seems everybody loved it as we knew they would because it's from the delta. My sister's husband developed MS 3 years later so we sold to a doctor in Starkville and it is still going strong. When you are in Starkville and go to Shipley's, look down at the concrete when you walk to the front and you will see our handprints. It was an adventure but I was glad to get back in the insurance business. Greenville did have and still does have some good eating places. Gino's is one of my favorites. Great cheeseburger with chili and slaw.

Speaking of MS, I don't know if you remember Janie/Marilyn Kebert. She has MS and lives with her brother in Kansas. Unfortunately, her sister tells me that she is not able to get on the computer and check out the website.

Becky, that is so sad about Marilyn Kebert...she is such a sweet person...Sorry to hear she is sick...do you have any contact info?

05/21/09 05:55 PM #1641

Brenda Connelly (Swartwout)

Becky, In high school I worked with Marilyn Kebert's mother at Dr. Wharton's office. MS is a cruel disease, as is Lupus. My sister, Linda, died from Lupus about four years ago. She was not only my sister, but my best friend and a great lady. I miss her.

Susan wrote: "Victor, I have been a court clerk for 25 years!" (or words to that effect).

Susan: I KNOW that! And if you would come to Arkansas I would hire you on the spot!

Me, I preside over 150-200 arraignments every Wednesday and over an average of 20 trials per day on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Every day for me is a court day.

If I had to take a spa day for every court day, we'd have to invent some more days of the week. I prefer to just totally enjoy my work as a judge! I have 20 employees, and I love them all. Our court is second to none in the 50 states for being user-friendly, professional and courteous. We say, "yes ma'am, no ma'am, thank you ma'am and please" (and we use "sir" where applicable), even when we send folks to jail. We find that this makes the customers--uh, defendants--respond in kind.

"No problem, Judge. I'm sorry that you had to send me to jail."

By the way, I spoke to Brenda Brown this afternoon. Jerry's running a fever and being treated for pneumonia right now. He was not up to taking phone calls. Let's keep those prayers in the atmosphere that Jerry's recovery will progress apace.
