Morning class of 69.........Now that we are back home, time to get to work and clean up the place and stuff done like yard work, etc.

Rayner, it was really good to see your post. We missed you and Frank at the reunion, but you just need to get that boy well.

It is great not having to go to work now that we are back, and can move at our own pace now that we are off for the summer. There are three things great about teaching.......June, July, and August, Ha!

Have a great summer.

Mike

Please keep us posted via this message board whenever you have time. It will help us direct our prayers more specifiaclly to your needs. We love y'all.

Mike: I enjoyed the visit with you yesterday. Hopefully I will find the time to visit Camp Rainbow this summer. Let's keep in touch. I am writing proposals every day for the school district, but still would be glad to help the camp out with their grant writing. I know you must be so proud of your daughter for being involved in such fine work.
I hope they don't use any of Jim's horses at that camp. Seems they are mean. Always seem to be pushing him down, biting and kicking him! Outch! :)

Lamb chili recipe

The best of the best, I promise!!!

Take 5 large ancho chilies (stemmed, seeded and torn into pieces and conmbine them with 2 1/4 cup of chicken broth along with 2 tsp cayenne pepper flakes. Cook in sauce pan until chillies soften. Puree mixture in batches in blender.

Take 2-1pound rolls of Mexican chorizo sausage and remove the casings and cook in a heavy pot on medium heat breaking up the meat with a spoon until the dripping begin to simmer. Drain with a fine strainer and let chorizo drain for 10 minutes.

Take 3 1/2 lbs of lamb and cut into 1/4 inch squares and cook in heavy pan until the outside of the lamb is brown and the center is raw. About 10 minutes.

In a crock pot add 1/4 cup of the chorizo dripppings along with 12 lg garlic cloves (chopped), 1 tbsp dry oregano, 1 tbsp ground cumin, 2 cups of chopped red onions, the ancho chili puree you made earlier, the cooked chorizo and the lamb meat and 2 can of golden hominy (drained) and 1 can of pinto beans (washed and drained). Cook of 8 hours on high stirring every occasionally. Season with salt and pepper stir and enjoy.

I'll bet you it'll be the best chili you've ever tasted

Chad

PS: I won several chili cook offs with this recipe

I have had several requests to add a page to the site where all can go and post Photos of the Reunion. Many of you have posted great pictures and the idea is to go to one place instead of all the different profiles to see all the photos. Hind sight is 20-20 and we probably could have created this when the site was designed.

Nikki thinks she may be able to create the page, but will have no control over what photos are placed on the page. We are trying to figure out how to allow this for only those with passwords and not just anyone who goes to the site, but requiring a log in. At any rate, we hope to have the "ReUnion Photo Page" finalized by Thursday or Friday. If you have pictures of the reunion weekend, you might want to delay posting to your personal profile until we can work through this and create that "special place". Johnny

Classmates...

I am back in Phoenix!!! Seems Mimi left a little too soon. Mommy is exhausted and baby Katie is a little fussy. Mimi to the rescue. We got back to Tampa on Tuesday and I flew out on Wednesday afternoon.
So thankful I was able to attend the reunion and glad to be back in Phoenix to help with this precious baby.

I am so enjoying all the photos. My camera was not working well(battery problems)so I am so glad that everyone got such great pictures...
Hope we all continue to post on this forum...Thanks again reunion committee for all the hard work. This reunion was "THE BEST"!!!! I think we all looked so forward to it and it exceeded our expectations!!!! Great Job!!

40th Reunion -Photos

ReUnion Photo Page Now Available to Upload and/or Download photos of the 40th Reunion.

On side menu, see 40th REUNION PICS
Click and follow instructions.

We have set up an additional Classmate Profile. It is the first one on the list and for this purpose alone. You can upload or download and save photos from this page by following the simple instructions. The flaw is that anyone can DELETE any photos and we are hopeful that we are all mature and responsible enought NOT to delete someone else's photos of us..........no matter how bad we 'think' we look.
Have Fun............Your Web Master.......Nikki

I added some pictures to the 40th Reunion profile. I'm not Bill Gates or even Al Gore but it really wasn't a problem. It is the same process you use with your individual profile. Thank you Nikki & Johnny this is a great addition to our site.

Well well well!! Guess no one is interested in talking anymore. Where the heck is everyone. Sitting here home alone , wife is on vacation at a spa in New Orleans, and I, well you know. Come on guys lets communicate, don't let these new friendships go cold.

Hey Chad...think of you when I make coffee every morning. The Rooster is in the window above the sink. :)
If yal are around H'burg, give us a call and we will do the same.

Hey Allan...Mitzi and I will be in Oxford on the 17th, 18th and 19th. Mark is playing in the State Select Baseball Tournament. We definitely would like to get together with you for lunch, dinner or just to visit for a while. We do not know our schedule right now. Just know that we are leaving Hattiesburg early Thursday morning for a game in the evening. Since Mitzi is a graduate of LSU, she asked for a tour around Ole Miss :))

George, I am sitting here listening to "OUR CD"...my kids say, "I like the beat. That would be easy to dance to..... Oh, please would you two (Mitzi and I) sit down and let us listen without having to watch you
try to dance." :)) Kids!!

PHOTOS ARE GREAT! I spent a few hours yesterday afternoon copying and pasteing to my computer and then printing for a photo book of GHS memories. I will go back and put names on them so that when I "loose my memory" I will have something to remind me who these wonderful old classmates are. (Now that might sound boring, but in South MS there isn't much else to do on a HOT, HUMID June afternoon.) PLEASE REMEMBER TO PUT CAPTIONS UNDER YOUR PHOTOS...and again, many thanks to everyone for the memories.

Hey Scooter: Thanks, hope it'll be memory for years to come. I really enjoy whittling out my roosters and have seen them occasionally at different places (stores, restuarants that we've stop at in my travels around the country. People seem to really enjoy them. If you and the wife come thru this area please stop, we'd love to visit with you both. Come , call when you can.

I had a wonderful visit with our classmates Anne Gibson and Wick Eatherly last night. We have been in the same supper club for over thirty years. Please keep her in your prayers. She has battled cancer for almost ten years. She wanted to come to the reunion but was weak from treatments. She is a fighter and will have another treatment for other spots on her hip and shoulder. Wick is a wonderful person and stands by Anne. Send them your love and prayers. They read our posts.

Meriwether Montgomery

I am happy to hear about Anne and will continue to keep her in my prayers. My mother keeps me posted all the time as to her well-being. What fun memories I have of the trouble Anne and I got into growing up. Our moms were always after us! :)

Danny Hall...you and your wife please send me some more great book titles. I am almost finished with "Water for Elephants" ....it is a hard one to put down! Gotta love that.

Send to meriwethermontgomery@yahoo.com....Thanks!

Meriwether,

So glad you enjoyed the book! It is a page turner! I am emailing you our next book for Book Club and some past great reads!

Anne and Wick -- same thing. I think of you often and was sorry you didn't make the reunion, though I certainly understand why. Anne, I'd love to see and visit with you sometime. Last time we saw each other there was a party going on . . . .

Debbie Hall -- I'm with you on "Water for Elephants." One of my favorite books in the last five years. I want in on that book recommendation hotline.

Scooter and Mitzie -- Look forward to seeing you when you're in Oxford. Your son must be a baseball whiz!

B.C., I just looked at the slide show Danny put together, and it's great. Please tell him thanks for putting so much effort into it.

I just don't think I"ve let the reunion committee know what a great job I know they did. The more I"ve thought about the logistics, the more impressed I am. Thanks, y'all.

Classmates and friends
I need your prayers in my time of need. My Mom who some know and others who have heard about her has only days to live. The doctors say they have done all they can and now its in God's hands. Tomorrow they transfer her from hospital to hospice care. I will be by her side until she walks through the pearly gates to meet the lord. Its hard but I know she's ready to met the Lord and that alone will help me through this. Love you all
