Did a little traveling thanks to the US Army: Japan, 'Nam (didn't like it), Philippines, Ft Riley, KS, Ft Knox, KY.
Worked 19 years at Rand McNally, Hammond, and another two years at Indy, having had probably another six jobs since then. If I lasted four years without a layoff, the plant would close in six. OK had enough, worked for an automotive stamping plant in Greencastle, IN. It had been in steady production for 30 years, closed after I had worked there only four! If not for my wonderful wife, Arlene, I would be in a mental hospital. Despite the fact that she has lost both her parents, two sisters, a brother, and gone through somewhere around thirteen operations for various reasons, she has never lost faith in me or God in all these 44 years. She IS the true Vet in our family. By the way, she packs a 38 and is a dead shot at 25 yards. She wants a Thompson Machine Gun for Christmas! Not sure about that. Sorry to get off the track here. I know this is supposed to be about me, but I really enjoy talking about my Arlene, she is just a hoot.
To continue on, I am still working, for a major printer in Indianapolis. We print the packaging for DVD movies and games, etc. After a very serious illness, Arlene retired from Kroger Company this past March. Our doctor said that it would take probably a year or more before she has fully recovered. In the meantime she spends her time painting, making doll clothes and shooting, of course.
Update: My Arlene passed away in August of this year. I had just retired 5 weeks earlier.
