Thomas H. Cooke, III, 65, of North Charleroi, PA died Sunday, July 28, 2013 in the Emergency Department at Mon Valley Hospital.   He was born November 23, 1947, in Darmstadt, Germany, a son of the late Thomas H. and Ann Joyce Little Cooke, Jr.


Mr. Cooke was a 1966 graduate of Kecoughtan High School in Hampton, VA. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1970 from California University of Pennsylvania. He received his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1976 from the Duquesne University School of Law. He recently retired as a Deputy Public Defender of Washington County.


Mr. Cooke was a member of the First Christian Church of Charleroi, PA, the Tri County Citizens Advisory Council for OVR. He was the founding solicitor for Club Serenity Inc. and a former member of the Board of Directors for Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers.


He was a sports fan, history buff and enjoyed reading. He devoted a lot of time to his family and cooking. Mr. Cooke was greatly loved by his family, friends and co-workers.


On July 21, 1989 he married Mary Ann Huber Cooke who survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, David Cooke of Pittsburgh, PA, Faith Cooke of North Charleroi, PA and Janelle Cooke of South Park, PA; one step-son, Jason Hughes (Marcy) of Moon Twp., PA; two sisters, Ann Jean Kotlansky of Uniontown, PA and Kay Gambino of Monongahela, PA; two sisters-in-law, Jodele Vandernitte (Joseph) and Cheryl Blair both of Fallowfield Twp., PA and several nieces and nephews.   Deceased in addition to his parents is an infant son, Thomas Edward Cooke.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. and Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 10 to 11 A.M. the hour of services in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA . Interment will be private.
