Elaine lived in Hampton, Virginia and graduated from Kecoughtan High School in 1965. She married Thomas Buzzard while he served in the Air Force in Hampton. Three children, two daughters and a son, were born to the couple. The family was living in Minneapolis and Elaine was only 51 when she died. She was survived by her husband, three children and one grandchild at the time.
