I have wonderful memories of Tom "Ivan" New. I, of course, had the biggest crush on him at Ft. Monroe and we flirted as teenagers were prone to do in those days, but we never became an item. I ran into Tom in the mid 70's when I had recently returned to Virginia after having been in New York, San Francisco, and Tampa, Florida.
Tom and I were both fairly newly divorced and we started seeing each other, but he was in Petersburg, VA and I was in Arlington, VA so our dating was sporadic. We drifted apart, and I lost touch with him, but will always remember what a good looking and neat guy he was and fondly remember him as my first big crush at Kecoughtan H.S.
