From time to time I will post things I think are cute or funny so enjoy...

"It was my class reunion, and all through the house, I checked in each mirror and begged my poor spouse To say I looked great, that my chin wasn't double, And he lied through false teeth, just to stay out of trouble. Said that 'neath my thick glasses, my eyes hadn't changed, And I had the same figure, it was just a mite rearranged. He said my skin was still silky, although looser in drape, Not so much like smooth satin, but more like silk crepe. I swallowed his words hook, sinker and line And entered the banquet feeling just fine. Somehow I'd expected my classmates to stay As young as they were on that long-ago day We'd hugged farewell hugs. But like me, through the years, They'd added gray to their hair, or pounds to their rears. But as we shared a few memories and retold some class jokes, We were eighteen in spirit, though we looked like our folks. We turned up hearing aid volumes and dimmed down the light, Rolled back the years, and were young for the night. "

Love this!  I should print this out and read it as I'm getting ready for our reunion.  Thanks for posting it.

All,

Regretfully, I'll not be attending the 40th reunion weekend.  I had intended to, but some things have come up, and that weekend just won't work this time.  Sorry I won't get to see everyone.

I'm on facebook.  I don't play games or post a lot, but I check it every couple of days, and I'd be glad to keep up with you all in that way.

I'll try to catch the 45th or 50th!

If anyone would like a tour of our museum on Saturday at 1:00 please let me know on here or Friday night.  I will bring brochures then.  It is the Miller-Kite House/ Stonewall Jackson's Headquarters in Elkton.  The house was built in 1827 and has been restored to the Civil War period.  We have a very extensive collection of artifacts from the war.  The ladies would enjoy the architecture and furnishings.  Stonewall Jackson used this as his headquarters to plan the valley campaign.  There is no admission charge and my husband does the tour.  He does weekly tours for Massanutten.

It was wonderful reuniting with old friends!  As I had mentioned to several friends, I had only attended the 5th year reunion.  How refreshing to come together, at our present ages and stages of life,  connecting on what I felt was a meaningful  level.

Thanks to all who made the weekend possible!

Love, Sharon

If you have photos from the reunion to share, please let me or Gary Mitchell know.  Gary and wife Barbara are putting an album together (almost finished), but would like more photos.  If you have any photos from 1974 graduation, we are looking for those also.

Keep profiles updated, enjoy the holiday and best wishes for a wonderful new year.  Sherrie

Do y'all remember at our 40th class reunion, we joked about taking a cruise for our 50th.  Well Carol and I aren't joking.  On September 24, after the reunion,we along with our husbands are flying to Prague to begin a Viking River Cruise with stops in Germany and ending in Paris.  We are inviting you to join us. I'm not sure how to put a link on this site but go to vikingrivercruises.com and look for the tour called Cities of Light. Prices start at $3,599 per person with very competitive airfares offered by Viking.  To get this price you need to book by January 31 but only have to put $25 down.

If after looking at this you are as excited as I am and want to book it, please call our booking agent, Jennifer at 888-663-8454 ext. 8514. Give her our booking # 7900828. This will insure that we are on excursions together and will take $100 off each ticket purchased. (Full disclosure: Carol or I will get $100 off for each person who books on this number).  Also if this is your first time sailing with Viking give Jennifer the code NTB24 which will give you $200 per person ship credit.

Carol and I have booked our own flights as we are tacking on some extra days in Paris and a two day stop over in Iceland.

Please give this some thought!  Lee Anne McDonald Steffe
