It says "casual attire" ... are people wearing jeans? Now that the stress of "am I going" is over, I can officially begin the stress of "what am I going to wear"!!! Anybody?

Darlene Lepore (Sikorski)

Hey Debbie,
You can wear whatever you like, if you would like to wear jeans that's fine. We figured we would put casual attire on the invite so nobody felt they had to be forced into wearing something dressy!! No pressure by putting casual attire!! Who cares what everyone has on, we are just looking forward to seeing everyone!!!! We realized it was going to be hard enough for some people to get here never mind having to worry about what they were going to wear.

Hi Everyone,

I just finished reading all the posts and I'm still laughing. Still can't believe it's 25 years later! South was good times & good friends... Playing soccer with Bell and Dana (our record wasn't the greatest but we had a great time!

How about Sister Marguerite tapping her "hat" back into place.. having us memorize the periodic table of the elements chart (i still remember a few of them). Does anyone remember how she'd push our pile of homework papers off of her desk and all over the floor if it wasn't in a perfect, neat pile?!

Hello to my early morning car pool gang.. Kelly Dougherty, Amy Carroll, Sondra Libucha (i didn't see her name on the classmates list). It's been a long time!

Hey Guys - This is awesome! I have enjoyed reading all the stories. FYI to all! East Catholic is playing Cheney Tech Wednesday (Thanksgiving Eve) @ 6:00pm. Pre-game party at East Catholic from 3:00 - 5:00pm and South Alumni are welcome. My son is playing his last high school game (He is a Senior at East and is Captain of the football team).

I have seen many South alum at many of the events, hope to see you there - or will surely see you at the reunion!!!

Keep up the great stories - I love strolling down memory lane.

Hi Everyone,
Just looking and laughing at all the messages. Anyone remember the Senior Christmas Skit? Bell, Darlene, Amy...we were the singing rein deer. I hope you all have a great time at the reunion.

Kathy Cornelio, how the heck are you doing?? I'm sure loving sunny Arizona. I spoke to your sister not too long ago and that's how we got your address, she said you were in town not too long ago for your I think your nephews graduation. Very funny, the singing reindeer, just the other night we were meeting for the reunion committee and Tony Tenore was talking about dressing as Mr. Corto!!!!! Awesome memories of South Catholic, I can't wait to see everyone at the reunion. Kathy, since you won't be able to make it, keep your eyes posted on this website because after the first of the year they are going to have a feature where we can upload more pictures, not just on our personal page and we are going to try and post pictures of the reunion.

Thanks Darlene. Yes we love Arizona...especially that you are all getting ready for the cold and it's 80+ here every day. Wish I could be at the reunion. I will look forward to reading the stories and seeing the pictures. Remember how burnt we were from my Grad party and then we had Senior Mass or Senior something that night. Bell with her bathing suit. Bell will be looking down on all of you that night smiling and laughing.

I definately remember that, as a matter of fact we were down the beach this summer and I was telling the kids that story how Bell thought it was so funny that people thought she couldn't get burnt and she was pretty burnt!!!! Weep for Bell....Bucky and I play in a golf tournament every summer that benefits a scholarship in Bell's name at the University of New Haven. It's a lot of fun, it would be great if more South people could take part in it, it's usually in June so alumni keep a lookout for it, it's at Goodwin Park.

Darlene,

You should bring some info to the reunion about Bell's memorial scholarship fund and/or post it here on the web-site! I'm sure a lot of people don't realize it's happening.

FYI- I have just been notified by Gianel Nanni that she wants us to wear our uniforms to the reunion... Deb (who is freeking out and would fit in her uniform from 25 years ago, not me) said this:Yes, we can all wear Chino 's (I haven't said that word in a long time!) and white shirts!!! We are HOT!!!!

I love those white shirts with 4 buttons so the guys could always see our boobs!! Oh!! what 25 years have done-

Now I'm freakin' out ... Uniforms ... Blue or Brown.. Vest or Blazer ... Skirt or Pants?!?!?!?!?

11/17/08 04:48 PM #52

Kathy Cornelio (Darling)

Clogs and socks, too?

11/17/08 04:52 PM #53

Kim Alberico (Lynch)

Were cloggs legal?? I think you would get a detention for wearing clogs, don't you?? Ohhh, wait, I think you could have them with a strap...right?? Vicky- you need to wear the GREEN!!

11/17/08 04:52 PM #54

Gianel Nanni

OK, I think my uniform is still all crumpled up at the bottom of my locker somewhere in that building under all my books & crap..........
I'm sure it would only take one good shake & the blazer would be totally wrinkle free, even after 25 years under the pile! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, you gotta love polyester! Those uniforms are STILL smoldering in the landfill after all these years! LOL

Did we have Gym suits, too (those one piece zippered-up-the-front striped nightmares)? Or were we allowed the dignity of wearing our own attire? I can't remember.

11/17/08 04:53 PM #55

Gianel Nanni

P.S. "Casual attire" means jeans to me!

11/17/08 05:02 PM #56

Kathy Cornelio (Darling)

Weren't the gym uniforms one piece red & white with a zipper?

11/17/08 05:58 PM #57

Claudia Colantonio (Horgan)

Hey Girls!! I'm with Gianel - 'casual' is a pair of great jeans with great shoes!! I remember wearing illegal blue cords under my blazer and strapless clogs and thinking I was so bad for breaking rules........Ciao and see everyone soon, Claudia

Alex Trujillo

Just to let you all know that you are all going to get a Saturday detention for confessing you sins..... If I didn't know any better the Saturday detentions were invented by Mr. Sasso so they could collect some overtime!

11/18/08 11:44 AM #59

Victoria Kalousdian

Kath... not clogs .. I was thinking .... Docksiders.... with knee socks! and a matching papagallo bag. :)

I got pulled over by Mr. Sasso and given a detention (my one and only) for forgetting to wear my uniform vest in the hallway ... I can still hear his voice as he pointed at me .. "You! over here. What do you call this get up?!"

11/18/08 07:02 PM #60

Amy Carroll (Blackwell)

Not to make you all jealous, but I just went to the Pappagallo store and got a new cover for my pocketbook (you know, the one with the wooden handles) AND I got matching argyle socks. As for the clogs, they're the legal kind with a strap across the back. So, I'll be wearing all these fine accessories with dressy jeans to the reunion. Cant' wait to see everyone!

11/18/08 07:50 PM #61

Debra DePietro (Policino)

Nobody could compete with Brenda with the pappagallo bags! Although I will say Amy runs a close second! I'm laughing at the buttons on our white shirts! Walking by people and saying "your button is open" ... or hearing it!! This is going to be a hysterical night for sure! There is no way I'll ever wear chinos or clogs ... although I do think a button has come undone on a blouse or two since high school!

11/19/08 10:17 AM #62

Victoria Kalousdian

Amy,

I am jealous...We don't have a Papagallo store here anymore! And I will be VERY jealous if you completed your ensemble with a Susan Bristol wool sweater (the solid colored body style with multi-colored yolk top). that matched your argyle socks.

Glad I found the message forum! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone too.

Meggan,

I will be at the Cheney/East game--on the opposite side of the field, from you, though. Have to go out and support my kids in the freezing cold. Although, as a teacher, I probably shouldn't bring my giant thermos of peppermint schnapps and hot chocolate like in high school. *sigh*

And everybody, those uniforms! EEESSHHH.

You know, if jeans are too casual, we could all sport our Junior Ring Day dresses or prom gowns!!
WOW.............this is all becoming a tad bit scary now.
