Attended St. Cloud State University from 89-93 where I also met my husband, Brian. Graduated with a degree in Applied Psych/Gerontology. Started working at Opal Services serving adults with disabilities in 1994. Got married in 1995. Worked a variety of roles at Opal over the past 25 years; 20 of which were as the head of our HR Department. I still work at Opal one day a week as the assistant to our owner. My 2nd career is working with Brian at our company ARCTEK Satellite Productions. We have a fleet of 5 satellite uplink trucks and provide satellite transmission and encoding services for live sporting events and national news nationwide. I manage all back of the house duties, clean trucks, do maintenance on our fleet and help drive the trucks all over the country. My sweet side hustle is driving occasional overnights for Fox. Working in live television requires a certain flexible life style and we've embraced it and made it work for us. When aren't working we do enjoy traveling for pleasure; fantasy football, attending Vikings games, playing cribbage, mountain biking; attending concerts; hanging with our kick-ass cat, Z; paddle boarding and motorcyling. We currently live in White Bear Lake. As a footnote: I also exclusively go by JK or Julie Kay now as my name. It's been so long since anyone (outside of a few family members and 2 long time friends) have called me Julie that sometimes it takes a minute for me to process that someone is referring to me.
