I am very sorry to hear of Karen's passing and wish to express my condolences to her family & friends. While I can't say that I knew Karen well, I do recall and thank her for kindness to a tall, gawkey boy while both of us attended Elm Place Junior High. In the M-Z class picture from our 40th reunion, Karen and I are seated on the far right, first row, posing momentarily for the photo op, as we caught up on the years since HPHS and EPJH.

I, too, was saddened to hear of Karen's passing. She was a bright spirit who always enlivened a room. I have warm memories of our times together. My condolences to the family.

Karen was one of my best friends in high school. I loved being with her; we took joy in the simplest of things. Decades after high school, I was able to spend some time with Karen and her husband in CO. We just picked up where we left off; it was as if no time had passed. To know her was to love her. I have no words... .

I seem to lose a small piece of my childhood every time I read one of these obituaries. They all make me so sad. The words of Rick, Jeff and Jill are so comforting. Karen was always so kind to me during some of my most awkward years at Elm Place. I remember her inviting me over to her house only to end up playing football with her brother Chip and some of his friends. My deepest condolences to John and the Hensley children.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Karen was such a nice person and it's always sad to see one of our classmates pass on. I'm sorry for your loss.
