JCMU Story:
Friday nights at Sugimoto's with the senseis & other students
bonfires on the beach at night, with fireworks, & drinks from Lawsons (great way to meet people)
PuyoPuyo taikais on weekends when nobody had enough money to go to Kyoto or Osaka
waking up early on a Saturday (with a hangover) to go to a kindergarten and play with the kids, or make mochi with the mayor
dialogues in class with Melville-sensei that somehows always ended up involving Kirin Beer and/or PuyoPuyo
studying in the lobby with beer and just about everything from my room, even though it was cold enough to see your breath
riding through a foot of snow and raging, bitter wind on our bikes to go downtown, and stopping at Sugimoto's for some good ramen at some point along the way
the first time I saw snow on the mountainsides (so beautiful!)
the first time I saw a shrine covered in snow
visiting the "ruins" of Sawayama-jou (and countless other forays into the abundant history surrounding JCMU)
beautiful sunsets over Lake Biwa
the extremely generous, kind, and patient homestay family I stayed with the first summer I visited Japan
the bike ride across roads and farmland to my host family's house that summer
one really special person I met that summer
a lot of great friends I made on my second stay at JCMU
... & many more things I will have to add to this list later on!!
