Zaikowsky, Steve (Weiser) "Zeke" age 64 of Excelsior, passed away peacefully on Sept. 26, 2010. He was preceded in death by parents Dimitri Zaikowsky and Claudia Weiser and brother, Tom Weiser. Steve will be deeply missed by brothers, John Weiser (Tony Moyers), Bob (Jan) Weiser, and Peter (Laurie) Weiser, nieces Elizabeth and Jayne Weiser, and his beloved Katie Gordon. Steve will also be missed by his long time four-legged companion, Duke. Steve was a classic handyman. He loved to diagnose and fix things with a commitment to quality craftsmanship. He brought the same creativity that led him to art school as a young man to remodeling houses later in life. Steve had a gentle spirit and humility. He knew his mind and expressed his opinions but respected those of others and appreciated them for who they are. He inspired all those around him, even during tough times, with his gratitude, acceptance, and gentle wit. He loved cars, music, dogs, art, good-looking women, and all of his friends and family. A special thank you to the staff and musicians at the 318 Cafe. The family would also like to express its appreciation to the wonderful staff at the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home and the Park Nicollet Methodist Hospice. A private gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, October 3. Memorials are preferred to the Animal Humane Society of Minnesota. Published on October 3, 2010
