Fuquay-Varina - Susan Marie Marek Goodwin, 73, of Fuquay-Varina passed away on November 14. The memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 724 Beaver Creek Rd, Apex.

Sue, the daughter of Frederick (Fritz) Marek and Marie Marek, was born in Edina Minnesota on October 1, 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jim Marek (EHS-1971). 

Sue is survived by her husband of almost fifty years, Tom, her children and their spouses, Teri, Skip, Todd, Wendy, Cari, Ronnie and Chad and her beloved grandchildren, Andrew, Austin, Carter, Colin, Dakota, Emily & Garrett.

She loved being an amazing mother and grandmother as well as being a second mother to many of her children's friends. She actively enjoyed participating in their schools and numerous extra circular activities. For her hobbies she took pleasure in sewing, quilting, crocheting and baking. She also enjoyed sharing her passion for crafting with others. In lieu of flowers, please donate to one of her favorite charities, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the National Kidney Foundation.
