Holly ad I swam on the HHS swim team for many years together. Our mothers were good friends as well. Holly and I both grew up in Interlachen Park, so as neighbors we also rode our bikes together. I have thought about her often over the years but lost track of her after graduation. I was very surprised that she passed away. She excelled at everything she did. Does anyone know any more about her in adulthood? I'd love to know where she lived, married, children, career?
I remember Holly attended one of our class reunions, maybe the 25th or thereabouts. If I remember correctly she was employed in Silicon Valley in the San Francisco area. We had band and math class together for five or six years. She was very good in band on her instrument and was one of the top math students.
Each one of these "posts" on the website breaks my heart. I have my 64 year book on hand and have used it way too often to look up the names and faces of those that we have lost.
Bonnie, I didn't remember that Holly lives in Interlachen. Our family lived on Preston Lane. I've driven through the old neighborhood several times over the years.
Michael and Greg thank you for keeping the records as up to date as you do. I greatly appreciate your efforts.
A lot of interest (a "ton" in today's parlance) in Holly and even some in Interlachen Park. Holly lived on the corner of Preston Lane and Maple Hill Road; house number 2 Maple Hill. Weren't those the days, before the Postal Service made us use long numbers? The Carlsons lived at #9 Maple Hill. Both our families were the first to live in these homes. #9 was built during the winter of 1948-9, I believe, and the Wilken's a bit later.
Holly was the middle of three children, with older brother Sherman and younger brother Rodney. Sherman once cut the string on my kite as it was aloft and my (bigger) sister Linda went over to settle accounts. Interlachen Park, as it turned out, was an "exclusive" place to live: limited number of lots, hard to get into, surrounded by Meadowbrook Golf Course, Interlachen Country Club (where Bobby Jones won the US Open in his Grand Slam year), Blake School for boys (later co-ed) and a commercial strip that included National Biscuit Company (Nabisco) and the Powell Candy Company (great smells when they were cooking). We really didn't know how good we had it. Needed to leave home, travel and move away before we realized how idyllic, peaceful and protected it was. May even still be, even though the clubhouse at Meadowbrook was razed and replaced by a trailer in the parking lot when I played there a few years ago.
Anyway, denizens of the Park included Margie Pladsen and Glenda on Homedale, Leslie Adams on Hawthorne, Lynn Butter on Meadowbrook, Candy Frankman on Ashley, Gail Colvin on Boyce, Karen on Preston, and others I can't recall--sorry, so let me know. These are all girls! The boys I played with moved away before HS, like John Lane (Hawthorne), Jay Mosely (Ashley) and Woody Baskerville (Homedale).
And another thing: just looked for my sister Blythe, a Junior in '64, who married Clarence "Curt" Curtis. She isn't in the yearbook. Sadly, she may not remember the why and wherefore. Thanks for another trip down memory lane...getting longer and longer.

Smart and quiet. I think she went to Stanford. Number two in class rank. This one is a shocker.

We lived 3 houses away from grade school through graduation. We had a lot of innocent, childhood fun. Lost track when her parents moved. Kinda sad.Greg Wilson
