School Story:

Most memorable moment: I went with Sandra Weikert my junior year. I was so shy around her, it took me 6 mos to muster the courage to finally kiss her! On her front porch one night after a football game, she said, "Are you EVER going to kiss me goodnight?" I was so high on that kiss I had a wreck going home.

Most embarrassing moment: Another time Sandy & I met 4 other couples at Shakey's Pizza after a football game. I was in the middle of telling a joke when I paused to take a bite of SCALDING HOT pizza. I pulled away and the entire topping came off, slapping me under my chin and neck and sticking there. Everyone was laughing and all I good do was grin (w/ tears). I had 1st degree burns for a week! But I covered it well every day with one of those fake turtleneck 'dickies'.

Life is a combination of two things: "Que Sera Sera" and "Things don't just happen, you've got to make them happen." - me

Famous or interesting people you've met?

Red Adair. He was my cousin (technically 3rd cousin)

James Drury (The Virginian). Along w/ a mutual acquaintance, Mr Drury & I had drinks at a bar one night. He lived in Spring Branch at the time. I still visit with him when he comes to Houston Gun Shows and makes a guest appearance.

Ever been on TV? Tell us all about it.

In 1991, I once pulled a couple of guys out of a burning car before it exploded. Got on Channel 13 News as 'Person of the Week' and received the Texas DPS Directors Award.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I bought a John Deere Tractor and love to do field mowing and dirt work on the side. It's GREAT therapy! Ride my motorcycle (when Leah lets me).

Name something you dearly love. and why?

Jesus Christ. He sacrificed himself for me.
My wife Leah. She loves me in spite of myself.
My dogs Bailey and Maddie. I once saw a bumper sticker that read, "Dear God, help me to be the person my dog thinks I am." FYI, that's an impossible task.
