School Story:

My most prominent memory is when our cosmetology class went to Austin to take our State Board test, and someone (I'm not telling who) snuck some liquor in. About six of THEM got bombed the night before and took the test with a huge hangover. Somehow, we all were able to pass the test.

What did you want to do or think you were going to do when you finished high school?

I didn't have a clue!

What and where was your 1st job? Do you remember how much you were paid?

Myl first real job was a secretary at the Houston Fire Department, and my salary was $7,000 a year.

Yes. Jack Cato came to our restaurant to interview Jake and what he was doing since retirement. How we came to open a restaurant in Waller Texas, etc

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Repurposing furniture. I have made two river tables

My family!

Be careful as you climb "up the ladder", you may pass people "on the way down" you stepped on

Is there a moment in your life that stands out? A moment that defines who you are? Other than kids being born or your wedding day.

Adopting a 6-month-old and becoming a mother again at age 57, and Jake becoming a father again at age 76.
