Glade,

Seriously, I don't think anyone wants to see us cheering on the float, but I'll see what I can do :)

What are you old or something, where is your school spirit !!! :)

Lynette Boss (Lender)

I'm with Glade! I think the Peanut Gallery could probably help you out with some cheers on the float! I'll be there to help.
I can make a banner with all our names on it.
Should we have a Memorial board on it, too?

Lynette I forgot all about the peanut gallery. That is a good idea. And Rhonda can led the cheers. Rhonda you aren't going to get out of cheering that easy.

Just a note for the ones that do not live around the Hudson area. This afternoon Jacinda Firgards Mother and Fathers House was destroyed by an explosion and fire. Last word was that her mom was in the hospital, her condition is not known at this time. Keep her and her family in your prayers. Jacinda's dad was in Parkersburg at the time this happened helping with the clean up of the tornado that came through last Sunday.

Howdy everyone! Thanks for doing this great site Jerry! Thanks also to Rhonda for sending me an invite. I was wondering if there would be a 25th reunion, but had never heard/seen anything about it. Sorry that I've missed the past four reunions, but I was:

* out to sea in the Navy (during first Gulf War) for the first one

* stationed in Germany for the second one

* work travel schedule precluded me from getting to the third one.

* went through pretty nasty divorce during the fourth one

I'm really hoping to get back there for the reunion next month, since it's been so long.

I was truly saddened to see the passing of Lori Lindeman, Steve Gartley and Dough Funke. Each brought a unique spirit that touched each of us. May they rest peacefully in a better place.

Thanks again for this effort everyone!!!!

Hello everyone -
I got the paper today and I seen they are doing a Hawaiian theme for Hudson Days. What do you guys think Hawaiian shirts or maybe dress up in 80's for the float or dinner? Let me know post some feedback, it will be easy for me I'm stuck in the 80's as you can tell.

I say we break the rules and don't follow the "theme", rather everyone grab the clothes or at least similar clothes to what you wore our Senior Year. We'll call it "Time Capsule 1983". I think it would be a hoot to be decked out in what we thought was "cool" at the time.

Hmmmm, my only issue is that I'll need to get a orange colored wig to simulate that mop I so proudly wore, since I'm sporting a Bruce Willis like "do" these days.

Break out the RayBans and t-shirts and for those that forget just breakout the old Senior Yearbook!

I am all for the '80s thing...its kind of sad, though, that my kids consider that retro ! I don't know about re-creating the "big hair, big bangs" thing... the hairspray usage might break some environmental emissions code ! I think we definitely need to be blasting '80s tunes during the parade ...

Glade and I are going to get a Mohawk!
Jerry :)

Jerry - I'm close to that mohawk. I have my hair high and tight. It wouldn't take much for me to do it. Are you up for it?

06/03/08 05:51 PM #34

Glade Mogle

I'm all for going 80's. I know I can't do the hair like I had in the pictures. It would drive me crazy to have hair like that again. Oh yeah blasting the 80's music is a must.

Jerry can't there be two Devos in the town of Hudson?

06/04/08 02:20 PM #35

Jonathan Cragle

Hmmmm, my only concern is what might happen if we start cranking Loverboy and REO Wagonspeed during the parade... I'm not sure Hudson is ready for makeout sessions during the parade eh? Also, it would be important to separate certain people if we choose to crank those tunes, otherwise it might end up being like at our middle school dances (remember the dance area being empty and the alley way by the small gym being filled with "non-dancing" teens? Okay, I'll stop...

Nice post Jon!
I'm still scarred from the square dancing and Disco with Mr. Lenth! Was it sixth grade or junior high? I tried to explain to my wife why I hate to dance to this day.

Disco Sucks, remember the few of us that had them shirts. I hate disco to this day. Lets rock out to AC/DC, KISS, and all the other heavy metal bands of the day. I can live with Loverboy and some of them, but not disco. I'm with Jerry on the dancing thing. Was there anyone that liked it?

It's funny, since my 16 and 15 year old sons love to swing dance, but I've only been coaxed out there a few times.

Speaking of KISS I remember when Rich King had a "KISS overnight birthday party" and that's all we did was crank KISS Alive and run around his farm in the dark!

I actually remember Dennis Strempke being our jr. high gym teacher when we had to square dance, using the old scratchy LPs. "Swing your partner, alemada left and a alamada right, now doce do, doce do, doce do.." LOL In fact, my kids get NO MERCY from me when they have to square dance for school, since we did it back in the day.

Jon I think you are right we could shock the town of Hudson with what they might see on the float. Sneak the bottles and cans on the float, like some of us used to do during the dances. That kept me from getting into prom. I didn't hid them well enough. And the college kids I have contact with can't figure out how I caught them.

Oh, you mean you didn't have the fake "Mt Spew" or "Peski" can-wraps like the following?

LOL, good times, good times indeed!

I remember the Kiss party, also Rich had a Halloween party as well when we where in 5th or 6th grade. Who remembers James burgess the foreign exchange student from England? He had a bunch of bands sharpied on his backpack and coat. The Clash, The stranglers, bauhaus. Funny never heard of those bands until MTV came out. Myself and Eddie Poppe would stay up all night at his Grandparents house in Waterloo watching videos before Hudson had (I WANT MY MTV). We had the run of her deep freezer full of snacks and goodies. Good-times!

Jon No I didn't have the fake wraps for the cans. I could have used them I think.

I also remember the KISS party, I think Rich and I had to be the biggest Kiss fans in Hudson. I still have a lot of there stuff from the days. Wow it is wild how talking here kicks in the memory.

Jerry I forgot all about James.

Wow ! You wild party animals... Glade, that is funny what you said about the students not knowing how you find them... I tell my kids all the time there isn't anything they can do that hasn't already been done and we will always find out...and we usually do! They just can't figure out how we do :)

Should be a fun reunion...I've been trying to contact a few more classmates. I've sent Teresa (Armstron) Strayer a link to the site and she's going to forward it to Todd..

See you all in July !
