I was never contacted or knew about my tenth or twentieth-year reunion, and now that I get a shot at making my first one, I may not be able to attend, due to a recent book signing opportunity that I may have to make. But I am happy finally to be here and get to know and or keep in touch with my wonderful Hug Alums.

Street gangs got me into some trouble after I graduated in 1989 but when I was finally able to resolve that I have dedicated my life to helping those that are in similar situations. As a result of this, I have helped create gang alternative facilities nationwide where youth and families obtain psychological, structured, educational and work programs to guide them to a path of growth and positive development. I've traveled nationally to speak on street gangs, it's life, and it's consequences, attempting to save, help and nurture the less fortunate.

I had become a star athlete during my middle school years, and though I was active in gangs, I was able to somehow balance both the school life and my street life. During my high school years, gangs were really playing a role in my life and so as an attempt to help me with life circumstances, a northeast friend of mine, asked me if I would consider joining the Hug High football team, so after deciding to do so, I was taking up campus and was introduced to Coach Borba and Stalworth, who directed the team during the late 80's. So, to make this story short, I was giving the opportunity to try out and during my very first day of summer, double days tryouts, I fractured my left metacarpal. I still made the team, and I was able to hang out with some of the most awesome guys out there. Brian Uptain, Ricky Cobb, Marty Washington, Jose Mendoza, John Campbell, and many others.. I'll never forget my Varsity Cheerleader; Trishawn Jackson. :)
