I'll never forget the day. Kristina (Poust-Hartman) and I heard something on the news with his name but we weren't quite sure it was "our Mikey" so we skipped our noon class (at college) and went to sit in front of the tv in our dorm hall. We just couldn't wrap our minds around the horrific story that unfolded before us. It was a very very sad day and still brings tears to my eyes.
Mike was always so full of energy complete with a smile on his face no matter how difficult his day may have been dealing with tease and torment. I'll never forget his crazy antics in Biology Class that kept us all laughing. Even Mrs. Lander could be caught quietly chuckling and shaking her head at his comical personality amongst the odor of dissecting frogs.
It is with deep regret to think of this world without him in it. He was such a kind soul and now forever a bright and shining star. To Michael and his family: you will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
