OBITUARY:                           

Romona Jo (Beason) Melot died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, in Oklahoma City, and was buried in the Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.  She was 64 and was graduated from Hugo High School in 1961.  After leaving Southeastern State College (SOSU), Romona Jo married her college sweetheart, Hilton Melot.

Romona was an energetic and determined woman, living her faith and loving to help people.  She showed amazing strength and demonstrated “sacrificial love.”  Family was the focal point of her life. She always had her projects, loved to read, and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed working in her garden and teaching her granddaughter how to cook. She was a University of Oklahoma football fanatic and liked garage sales and designing.

Romona was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband Hilton Melot of the home; son and daughter-in-law Jason and Devra Melot, Oklahoma City; granddaughter Madalynne Melot, Oklahoma City; two sisters-in-law, Clarice Melot, Shawnee, and Mickey (and Charles) Hunsucker, Austin, Texas; numerous friends; and other family members.
