Before we came to Huntington HS, HBHS 1979 alumni Jonathan Logan, Lisa Shutz and I attended Liberty Christian (near Beach and Warner) with Phil. There was only 32 +- in our small class. Tragically, Phil was fatally injured riding his motorcycle. His funeral was at St Bonaventure...and a heartbreak to see his dad pried off his casket. Phil was a nice guy.

Unlike milk cartons, we don't have expiration dates stamped for reference...living graciously, enjoying the day, friends and family; seems simple enough to be important.

Thanks Janet for posting about Phil. He was a sweet guy. He and our fellow Liberty classmate, Ken Eastburn were the biggest Beatle afficianados in the world. Phil knew every song and what album it was on, hated Yoko and thought Linda was a no talent. Lisa

Dear Janet, Thank you for your kind words about Phil. Phil and I were the closet of friends, we lived across the street from each other at the time of his death. It was a loss without comparison for me when he died and left an unfillable hole in his family. Phil was traveling home from work on a rainy night on garden grove blvd. His motorcycle collided with a stalled car in an unlit intersection. He died at the scene of the crash.
