What was your education path to the graduation stage in Idaho Falls and beyond? Where did you attend kindergarten, elementary school, junior high, high school, college?

Kindergarten at Emerson, Bel Air Elementary, Clair E. Gale Junior High, Idaho Falls High School, and Brigham Young University

What did you think you wanted to do when you graduated from high school? Did you end up doing that, or something completely different?

After high school graduation I wanted to attend Brigham Young University. I knew at some point I would get married and have a family. I wanted to work in a family business with my husband. We wanted to travel and serve a mission for our church together. I accomplished many of those things but not all... but I'm not done yet!

High points of your life since high school?

Family is everything to me. Motherhood has been my full time career. Giving birth to and training and nurturing ten children in correct principles with my husband has been the highlight of my life. Our eleventh child was born and died at birth in 1998. One may not think that a highlight or a blessing but it was in many ways. Fast forward to 2017 when my husband was called home after 41 years of marriage. The hardest thing I have ever had to do is go forward without him. Another highlight is serving as an ordinance worker in the Provo LDS Temple where I find much peace and joy.

Are you currently retired?

If so, what are you doing with all of that time? Did you move to a different place, or stay where you were?

Serving in my Church twice now as Relief Society President competes for my time all the while providing numerous opportunities for service and my own personal growth and development. In 2017 I moved back to Utah after 37 years in Virginia. Most of my children have gathered here as well. I decided to go back to school at BYU in the Independent Study program. I hope to finish the degree I started years ago while still being Relief Society President and Matriarch of my large and growing family. What was I thinking?

What did you always want to do that you haven't done yet?

I would love to visit southern France where my husband served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Then I would have to visit Paris as well. I would also love to visit England and the Scandinavian countries where my ancestors came from and work on family history while in the different countries.
