What was your education path to the graduation stage in Idaho Falls and beyond? Where did you attend kindergarten, elementary school, junior high, high school, college?

I received all of my schooling here in Idaho Falls from Kindergarten through High School. I graduated from college from Brigham Young University with my B.S.

What did you think you wanted to do when you graduated from high school? Did you end up doing that, or something completely different?

Since I was in third grade, I wanted to be an elementary teacher, and I was blessed to be able to do what I loved for 28 years. I graduated from BYU Provo with my teaching degree in 1972. I taught for 4 years before we were able to have children. Then I loved raising our three children for the next 12 years. When our youngest started 6th grade I went back to teaching and retired two years ago.

High points of your life since high school?

College, Marriage, children, and grandchildren

Lived in San Juan Capistrano, CA for two years
Lived outside Portland, OR overlooking the Columbia River for 11 years
Moved back to Idaho Falls in 1993

Are you currently retired?

Yes

If so, what are you doing with all of that time? Did you move to a different place, or stay where you were?

I am busy with grandchildren, very active in my church and its programs and service opportunities. I'm working at the Buckle occasionally as needed since our daughter is the manager. I enjoy many wonderful friendships with varying activities like quilting, gardening, cooking, concert attending, walking and talking etc.

What did you always want to do that you haven't done yet?

I wanted to travel the United States and maybe go to Europe and see some of the icons of history. With my husbands health issues the past few years, we have not been able to do that kind of traveling.
However, now that he has passed away, I am going with three other women on a two week trip to visit some of the most famous places and icons in Italy this October. We will see a small part of Spain as well.
