Michelle Cotten

Michelle Elayne Cotten, 56, passed away April 25, 2008 at her home in Irving, Tx.  She was born on February 20, 1952, in San Diego, Ca.  Michelle had lived in Irving for 40 years.  She attended Irving High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Irving.  She played in bands, choirs, and modeled for J. C. Penny's.  She is preceded in death by her Father, Carl R. Cotten, Sister, Janet Kay Grindstaff.  She is survived by her Mother, Ouida M. (Cotten) Banks of Irving, Tx., Aunt, Doris Jones of Ardmore, Ok., Nephew, Kelly E. Grindstaff, and Brother-In-Law, Kenneth Grindstaff of St. Charles, Mo., and several cousins.  Funeral services were Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at 10:00a.m., at Chapel of Roses Funeral Home. Interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, Ok.

I remember Michelle from Drama class, she was very creative and very funny. She could look at me in class in an "I'm going to get some attention Now" sort of way and I couldn't wait to see what was coming next. She was a character. I was so sad to see that she had died so young.

Footnote: Did you know she had one blue eye and I think one brown eye. Not sure the colors, but they were different colors. As if she were not unique enough.

 

Better space and time my friend.

Michelle and I were in band together.  I don't know how she played the trombone with those braces on.
