Sylvia Jones Martin

After graduation in 1973, I went on to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville. . I graduated in 1977 and came back to Fletcher to teach math and remained there until 1995. I married Jimmy Martin in 1995 and relocated to Atlanta, GA. Our daughter Alexis was born in 1996. I continue to teach school here in Atlanta for the Dekalb County School System. I'm so excited about the upcoming reunion. I have really enjoyed re-estasblishing old friendships, as well as making new friends.

Jax Beach 144- I remember the May Day Celebration and wrapping ribbon around the May Pole. I still don't know the reason for the celebration . I just remember the fun activities, such as square dancing and the selling of lots of good food and snacks.

Fletcher- I can still remember the band striking up the Horse and Doris Ferrell dancing and winning the free tickets and Mr. Friend having us do Two Bits about fifty times ( smile ). I recall the Class of 73 forming our own section for the pep rally because we wanted to do our own thing. The funny thing is the section is still there to this day.(smile).
