Has anyone kept in touch with Dennis Biggs or Sherry Seaward?

05/27/14 04:40 PM #47

Richard Doeschler

I just sent Dennis a Facebook "message." I haven't seen him since the Lee days. I told him about the reunion and its location. Maybe he'll respond. I'm not sure where he lives now.

Thanks Rick. I found him on FB a few weeks ago and did the same. Have not heard back. I think he is in Georgia. Also looked like Amy Simpson was a FB friend but I did not reach out to her.

Thanks Mike, I hung out with Sherry a lot but after graduation lost touch. Every time I drive by the street where she lived I look that way and think of her. She isn't listed on this site. Wonder if she could be added and then you could get her to sign up?  See you Saturday.

Dear Class of 1969,

Please consider this your very own personal invitation to the Robert E. Lee High School Cross Country State Champs Awards Banquet.  The date is Saturday, June 21st, at 6:00 p.m. at the Lakeshore Women's Club.  This team was comprised of four seniors, two juniors (Class of 1969), and two sophomores.  Under the leadership of Coach Jim Donovan, these guys won the Cross Country 2A State C hampionship, and were only rewarded with a cake from Coach Dingman.  Donations have been raised to purchased State Champ rings.  The rings have been delivered and are ready to be awarded to these guys who brought such honor to our school.  Since two members of your class were on the team, and will be in attendance at the awards ceremony, we would be most honored for members of the Class of 1969 to come to the event.

The team members are so excited and grateful that this event has been planned to honor their accomplishment from the fall of 1967.  All team members will be in attendance except for one.  Coach Jim Donovan is beside himself with anticipation and excitement!  He actually designed the State Champ rings, and they are impressive!

The food will be catered by Davoli Catering - these are the folks that own Metro Diner so you know that we are in for a treat foodwise!  Paul (Bo) Galloway will emcee the program.  Please don't miss this most special of evenings.   This will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime night that you won't want to miss.

The cost is $25 per person, $35 per couple.  Checks can be made payable to the Lee Class of 1968, and mailed to P.O. Box 37029, Jax., FL 32236

We will be looking for you.

Pam Register Murray, Percy Rosenbloom and Rogers Holmes

and the Class of 1968

This is great and long overdue! I was a member of the jv team and shared many long and early training hours with John and Jack and the rest of the team.I remember running laps on the track while the football team practiced. I only ran one varsity race due to the fact that these guys were out of my league. When I arrived at UF I became friends with Jack Nason who won the individual state championship at that meet. I am sorry to say he is no longer with us but he always expressed his admiration for our competiveness in that meet. Coach Donovan is the main reason we went that far and all accolades should go to him! I hope I can make this event but if not give my fellow runners a high five!

Nick, please try to come.  I know that your presence would mean so much to the guys and Coach Donovan.  If you know the whereabouts of any of the other jv team members, or any of the track and field guys, please get word to them that we would love to have them there.  Just send me an email so that I can include you in the head count for the caterer.  You can pay at the door.  Also, the team decided that the dress for the evening will be casual - slacks, golf shirts, etc.- nothing dressy.  Again, the guys are so excited about getting together.  You need to be part of this.  Hope to see you on the 21st.  Go Generals!

Nick,

I know that the guys and Coach Donovan would be so thrilled if you and the other members of the JV Team could join us for the Awards Dinner. Everyone is so excited about our chance to finally give the team the recognition that they so richly deserve. Please do try to be there and also extend an invitation to not only any of the track team members you are in contact with but also invite your classmates. This is going to be a very special, once in a lifetime event! Your presence will only add to the charm!

Carol Ann

Come on folks.  I was not the only person taking photos at the reunion.

Please upload your memories of the 45th reunion night and share with your classmates.

The photo upload software they have provided us is very simple.

I have a few more photos and videos to upload but would like to see yours as well.  I could not be everywhere at once plus Scotts videographer will probably provide us with a world class product to remember.

"add photos" "add videos" browse.....click! You can even add your own text.....!

Thanks all,

Billy

Thanks Billy & Helen... the photos and captions are such a wonderful reminder of a most excellent Reunion gathering. I'm listening to an original Tommy Nixon CD right now entitled THE TOM NIXON PROJECT!  Way to go Tom!!!  Love your voice, music & storytelling... and touching dedication!  Thanks for sharing!  Talk about going down memory lane... and with a sound track!  What a talented, great group of friends we all shared in those "wonder years"!

By the way... it was just announced and ROBERT E LEE is one of Jacksonville's top A Schools!

The reunion was so awesome. Thanks to all the people that worked so hard putting it together - Scott, Lamar, Gilchrist, Kate, Susie and everyone else I'm forgetting to mention. Thanks, too to Billy Davis for all the great pictures and captions. Helen's pictures too.  Really looking forward to 50!  Seeing so many people after what is basically a lifetime was wonderful.  Thanks again all!!!!!!!

I thought that this website was for the Robert E Lee Class of 1969, not a political website.

I really don't have a problem helping a former classmate; my objective would be to just offer them the best.

How exciting that Hans is running for mayor of Jacksonville! When most of us are

winding down and signing up for medicare, Hans is revving up to take on a huge challenge

in life. That takes guts and courage! My respect and support go out to both Hans and Debbie!

Go get 'em, Hans! You can do it!!!

Patty,

Hans is running for Ander Crenshaw's seat as Ander retires.

Hans Tanzler III, a former executive director of the St. Johns Water Management District and son of the iconic mayor who first led Jacksonville’s consolidation era, said Thursday he is running for the 4th Congressional District.

I wish Hans success against Rutherford. Rosenbloom and I have circulated a good number of signs in key places at the beach. Coming in on Atlantic Blvd, Beach Blvd, 3rd Street and A1A and Penman Road.

I hope all will contribute to the fine job that Hans has done and will do in Congress or which path he takes. My 'hats' off to Debbie in support and we hope to see a victory!

As Patty kind of stated, it is nice to see that at our age, there is no quit in us!! Good Luck to my 'old neighbor'!
