Sorry, I could never vote for a narcissist with so little knowledge of foreign affairs.

The Magic Bank Account
Imagine that you had won the following *PRIZE* in a contest: Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400 in your private account for your use.  However, this prize has rules:

The set of rules:
1. Everything that you didn't spend during each day would be taken away from you.

2. You may not simply transfer money into some other account.

3. You may only spend it.

4. Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another $86,400 for that day.

5. The bank can end the game without warning; at any time it can say, “Game Over!". It can close the account and you will not receive a new one.

What would you personally do?
You would buy anything and everything you wanted right?

Not only for yourself, but for all the people you love and care for.

Even for people you don't know, because you couldn't possibly

spend it all on yourself, right?
You would try to spend every penny, and use it all, because you knew it would be replenished in the morning, right?

ACTUALLY, This GAME is REAL .....

Shocked ??? YES!

Each of us is already a winner of this *PRIZE*. We just can't seem to see it.

The PRIZE is *TIME*

1. Each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds

   As a gift of life.

2. And when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is Not credited to us.

3. What we haven't used up that day is forever lost.

4. Yesterday is forever gone.

5. Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time WITHOUT WARNING...

SO, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?

Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in dollars.

Think about it and remember to enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than you think.

So take care of yourself, be happy, love deeply and enjoy life!

Here's wishing you a wonderful and beautiful day. Start “spending”....

"DON’T COMPLAIN ABOUT GROWING OLD…!"

SOME PEOPLE DON'T GET THE PRIVILEGE!

Donald Trump? I frankly don't get it. The ultimate con man calls Hillary crooked? I wouldn't bet the house on his success. My last name maybe Nixon, but I'm a practical democrat not a delusional member of the fringe right. I didn't want to become political on this class of 69 site but I have to say something in response to lunacy.             Tom Nixon

Tommy Nixon and that is your constitutional right! That is what our men serve and die for is for you to have the Freedom of Speech.

Whoa! This is getting WAY too heavy!  Let's take it back a notch Dorothea!  After all, you posted the DJT get together, but no one lectured you on YOUR right to free speech.

M Jane Johnson (Johnson)

Here here Steve!

I understand people posting on here about Hans and wish him the best of luck!  Please, please keep this site politically free!  Everyone has preferences for whom they vote for.  No one is really going to change someone's mind on their choice.  We hear enough about politics through various media so we don't need one more location to add to the pile.

Thanks.

Susan, what is so WOW for complimenting his freedom of speech! And yes I invited my classmates to a Women's DJT get together that was very successful with standing room only with a two weeks notice. I enjoy seeing my fellow classmates from 67,68,and 69!

Steve, you are absolutely right - "The key word is classmate."  Dorothea needs to take her alt-right politics and in your face inspirational nonsense (did she really need to make her post in 36pt type to get our attention?) back to her own class of '68. She has no agency on this forum.

I am hoping to see one of the many emails that we are all receiving say:  "You’re invited to our 2019 50th Reunion Cruise"! Please let this message forum return to classmate news only.

I hadn't wanted to respond to any of this banter, but I just have to weigh in!  Just as Tommy said, "I didn't want to, but........."

Amazing that the so-called "inspirational" message would be put into a "basket" with alt-right mentality.  What is "alt-right" anyway?  Labeling.  Ugh!  Brings back dreadful memories of Gants and Villagers!  Equally amazing is that there is an obvious division between classmates, just like it was 47 years ago.  But to use a line from a song of our era, "nobody's right if everybody's wrong."  Enough already!  There's enough name-calling going on via the media (and not just pertaining to the election); there's enough scrambling to get on whatever side of the line that has been or is being drawn; there's enough venom being spewed without adding to it out of our own mouths!  This country has become so proud of being tolerant, but what that really means is that an opinion is tolerated as long as it is agreed with.  We all have an opinion.  Keep what's yours and I'll keep what's mine!  Oops, I just gave my opinion!  Oh, well!

While very tempted, I am going to pass on entering the fray....however allow me to be the quintessential nerd and say Ms Howarth and Ms Eleazer would have spent more than one lecture discussing the history emerging from the present polotical climate and in particular a couple of the personalities (one in particular) it has produced......and Mr Rupp would be in total disbelief that some of his former "glow worms" would even be having this "vociferous" conversation........cheers class of 69.

Susan Victoria Fritts (Burnett)

Actually, I'm enjoying reading the banter!  Can tell I'm 65 though because I can't recall who Ms. Howarth, Ms. Eleazer are and barely remember the name Mr. Rupp (physics?)!  I'm also out of the loop as to the phrase "glow worms." Guess this means that I should also be keeping all comments to myself since it appears from my memory lapse that I may be on the fringes of Alzheimers.  Hey, what else do I have to keep me occupied? Sticking our heads in the sand and pretending all is rosey is unhealthy, differences are what makes life interesting and each of us unique.  Disagreeing doesn't have to mean lack of friendship or comradary.   I have lots of friends that I disagree with that I'm still friends with.  Hope that will continue.

This is the most conversation that I have seen on this web site! We do love to communicate and how boring it would be if we all agree! What does everybody think of all these bombings in Minnisota, New York, & New Jersey? This week alone also two High schools right here in River City had bomb threats! Where were you when Cuba / Us crises? Remember hiding under the desks and those that could afford it building bomb shelters! Pray for peace!

Unless my pre-senile dementia has actually grabbed a good toe hold, Ms Howarth and Eleazer double teamed to teach American History and really had a passion for many of the more scandalous events and people in the history of this country.  Mr Rupp was a very unique individual (I think he even had a metal plate in his head) who taught AVC (Americanism versus Communism...thank you Cold War) and PAD (Problems of the American Democracy)......but then I might have dreamed all this last night..

09/18/16 05:36 PM #85

Debra Kay Cribb (Varriano)

Don't remember Mr. Rupp, but I remember Mr. Register for AVC.  Isn't he the one who gave the same test for years and years?!  While his tests may not have been updated, he certainly was unique, and a hoot to boot!  And of course we remember (unless we can't anymore) those duck-n-cover exercises!  After watching years and years of PBS  documentaries on the effects of a nuclear attack, it is actually amusing that we really believed we were doing something that could save us!  Goes to show that wishful thinking don't make it so!

In my opinion Mr Rupp was a board certified character..Looking back, I think he was light years ahead of the times.. I wish I had the intellect to have appreciated him back then.  ... I think having a conversation with him   on today's current events would be very interesting.

Tommy, thanks for waking the board up :)

Ah. Mr. Rupp!! Had him for Am Hist and AVC. A most unique person. Very passionate about his subject matter. The metal plate was due to being conjoined to his twin. He reflected on the fickle finger of fate choosing him.
At times he reminded me of the teacher in the movie, The Wall.
Just finished the last of the humble pie from the 63 to 20 drubbing from the Louisville game.

Terry Wallace! Still talking baskets. I love it. Please come to the 50th reunion. I'd love to see you once again. Heck, my wife has even promised to come for the 50th after avoiding the 25th and 45th ( my only others attended ). Tom Nixon

Tom, I will do my best to be there. It would really be nice to see my fellow teammates again not to mention all of the other wonderful alumni from the class of 1969. I hope you are doing well and look forward to perhaps seeing you there. Take care my friend.

I'm sure we have classmates ranging from one end to the other on the political sprectrum. I register more on the "bleeding heart liberal" end of said spectrum but I call myself an Egalitarian, i.e., everyone has a right to one's opinion. Let's just keep it civil and know that politics is just a tiny aspect of our overall consciousness. Right, Portnoy? Had lots of fun at the 45th Reunion and am looking forward to the 50th. Peace out, brothers and sisters.

Terry, it's a date for the 50th. Hans and I were the only hoopsters at the 45th reunion. We were given a brief tour of the old gym, locker room and new weight room by Lee's current principal when we attended the school tour. They still have the same wood floor. It brought back many memories. It was the first time I've been in the gym since 1969. We were both hoping that other teammates would show, but it didn't happen. If you have any contact with other teammates, please convince them to attend as well. Love to see Gary as well. Best to you! Tom

Wasn't John Church on the team?  If so, he was at the 45th.
