Lived in Tennessee, Texas, Maine, Virginia & back to Florida. Never made much on my drawings & paintings. So for the past 11 years, as a way of sharing my hobby of textiles & teaching some Florida/Georgia history, I do historical reenactments (1600's - early 1900's) of Florida history & SE Georgia history by doing weaving demonstrations at state/county fairs, museums, schools, & reenactments.
Don't do craft fairs unless requested.
Check out my website sometime: http://www.shawlsbyshar.com. Will be updating the fall season schedule as the events are confirmed & adding/changing out pictures.
Since I've been unemployed the past year I've been volunteering at the GCS Senior Center, local schools, teaching weaving or sewing, volunteering at several living history farms in NE Florida, & working on my home & yard. Plus some traveling with my (1966 Shasta ("rescued") camper. She's roadworthy, just not finished inside yet.
I take in homeless ferrets that even the animal shelters turn away. I try to find them new forever homes; or they just live the life of Riley here for the rest of their days & terrorize the two cats & my yarns.
