Benjamin Riba

After graduation I attended Queens college. I went there for a long time. Finally graduating with 150 undergraduate credits. I was a Liberal Arts major, Pre Engineering, finally getting a Psych degree. Imediatelly after graduation I began teaching in Elementary school, early childhood. It took me a while to get there but I loved every minute of it.
While teaching I was involved with the local Teacher's Association and was one of the founders of our Teachers' center. Since retirement I have been actively invloved with our Retired Teachers' Center.

My musical history began with the Trombone in Jr. HS moving on to the Oboe in JHS, then to the Tuba in band. I also played the Tuba or Base Drum in the Orchestra or whatever Mr Katz asked me to do. I was NOT a great musician. But I had a lot of fun doing it. In the music I was sometimes know as, "Riba the Tuba from Aruba."

I played on the Soccer Team. My nickname was "Crazy Legs."
