I had a great career as an English teacher and department chair at Great Neck South High School, a wonderful school with terrific kids. I retired in June of '06.
Family, parenting, and working have been the important parts of my life.
I am now enjoying Manhattan, more travel, and new grandchildren.
I remember loving Mr. Silver's English class. It was fun to be his student. He made me love every book he taught. A couple of years later when I returned to Jamaica to observe classes, a requirement for earning my NY State teaching certification, I went back to his class. He made me feel welcome and I was happy that I found him to be as funny and delightful as he had been in the past. One detail I remember from his lesson is that he referred to Shakespeare's history play, "Hank Cinq."
