School Story:
Did not go to JHS (went to Kew-Forest), but all my friends did. I went to PS 35 thru 4th grade, then PS 178 thru 8th grade. The walks home for lunch is a wonderful memory, with friends invited to join, then walk back up 192nd St for the afternoon sessions. My year as an AAA Safety Patrol Guard, "working" for Mrs. Altman. All of the crossing guards got a free trip to Ebbits Field, my one and only visit to see the REAL Dodgers play at "home." The Utopia Theater; Roger's Luncheonette for an assortment of penny candy on the way to the movies- sunflower seeds at $.02/box; the little sugar button candies, same price; pretzel sticks were $.02 apiece, or 3 for a nickel !
Great memories of a great life.
