Hello Everyone,
It is with great sadness that my brother Larry and I are sending you this email regarding our brother and your friend, Doug.
Doug experienced a medical emergency the night of Jan 30, 2020. He was transferred to the hospital and care was started immediately to try and prevent pneumonia. This did not work, nor did any of the antibiotics or other medications work to reverse the pneumonia. His condition worsened and he passed away on Feb 6, 2020.
If you know anything about Doug you know he was a fighter and had overcome so many of the odds, considering how his life had changed after his Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). However, TBI took its toll on his body and, unfortunately, we had seen a decrease in his ability to keep his lungs clear, so pneumonia was a constant risk for him despite breathing treatments and keeping him away from sick people as much as possible.
And if you know Doug you know that his faith was STRONG! He has been an example to many people of a faithful servant of God's and of how to keep positive in light of so many trials. He is with our parents and other ancestors now and restored to his whole person. Our wish is that each of you will pause a moment when things are tough for you and think of Doug and his strength and faith as means to get through the rough spots.
Memorial services are being planned for sometime in March. We will send out the information when we have it.
We will mostly likely not be checking Doug's email very frequently. If you would like to reach either of us please feel free to email or call us at:
