Obituary for Jeanette D. Evan

Jeanette D. Evan, 74 of Kearney passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at St. John’s Good Samaritan Home in Kearney. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.

Jeanette was born September 10, 1951 in Kearney, NE to Wallace and Florence (Juhl) Griss. She was raised in Kearney and was a graduate of Kearney High School. Jeanette was a longtime employee of Baldwin Filters.

She enjoyed keeping in touch with her family and painting.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jason (Cheryl) Evan and John Evan; 2 grandchildren; siblings, Jeff, Jim, Jack, Janice, and Jill; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Michael Evan, Jr.; and her sister-in-law, Silvia Griss.
