Donna Volpentesta (Pontillo)

Gaetana “Donna” Pontillo, 75, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie with her family by her side.

She was born on July 26, 1940 the daughter of the late John A. and Virginia (Vena) Volpentesta. She attended local schools and graduated from St. Therese School of Nursing in 1961.

In 1991, she married the love of her life, Anthony N. Pontillo in Kenosha.

She worked for Kenosha Medical Center for six years and was fortunate enough to be able to stay at home to raise her two boys. She returned to long term care nursing, retiring from Brookside Care Center in 2001 as Assistant Director to Nurses.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony N. Pontillo; her sons, Michael J. (Lael) Piehl, John R. (Renee) Piehl, Anthony J. (Sandy) Pontillo and Scott A. (Jane) Pontillo; her sister, Carole J. (Robert) Schmidt; grandchildren, Caleb and Vanessa Piehl, Solomon, Elias and Jada Jane Pontillo; Tyler Pontillo and Nicolle (Kevin Larsen) Kitt; and great-grandson, Charlie Daniel.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Daniel Kitt.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th, at the Proko Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Brookside Care Center would be appreciated by the family.

Donna has been the one to bring our class together. Her love for our class has led her to organize the committee for our class reunions for  many years.  I don't know what we will do without her. Rest in Peace Donna. You will surly be missed.   Lovingly, Judy Testard-Bauer.

I hate getting these notices, some of them more meanful to me then others but Donna and I go all the way back to McKinley elementary school, in Kendergarden . She was always a class act.

Just like Bill L. Donna and I went thru school together starting at McKINNLY. She was always a pleasure to around.

She and my cousin Beverly Shakus were very good friends. I will let Bev know about  Donna`s passing.
