June, 1958 - right after graduation - 3 hicks from Kenosha put together $200 each, bought a round trip Greyhound ticket to New York City. Carl Greco, Bob Savaglio and Tony Costabile wanted to see the sights, visit all the lounges to listen to the Jazz greats of the era and be able to drink alcohol beverages legally as eighteen year olds. With $150 left the 3 of us rented a double room at a YMCA 2 blocks from Times Square. We saw it all. As the last man standing it is with sadness I recall this great trip. I have a photo of the three of us enjoying exotic cocktail watching a all girl review floor show at the famous Lation Quarter. I will treasure this photo as well as our venture into the big time.
