I get these and see the names and feel bad virtually each time, but this one is really got to me. Kenny and I were life long friends. His mother and my mother were life long friends and even though Ken and I grew up on opposite  sides of Kenosha we were always friends. Over the years I lost touch with him (I believe the last time I saw him was at my mothers in Florida, back in 1990) . Anyway he was one heck of a third baseman. Heaven 's getting a good guy.

Ken and I were on the first LITTLE LEAUGE teams that were created in KENOSHA when we were 11yrs old.

We both played with and against eachother thruout our years in school. In highschool KEN was our most great 3rd baseman. I was a very good pitcher then but, even in batting practice I could never get the lefty out!!!

His MOM and mine were always at our games and sitting next to each other and cheering us on.

To Ken`s family, I`m so sorry for you loosing KEN. I sincerely hope that you all have as many good memiories of KEN that I have.

MAY GOD BLESS HIM AND HIS FAMILY

We have lost another great one.  Not only was he a fine athlete, but truly a fine person.  If every friend could be like Knut, we would have no enemies.

Played lots of basketball with him, and won most of our games.  He was always given the best player on the oposing team to guard, because he was the best defensive player.

I will miss him as will anyone that knew him.  I hope Carole and family can heal soon after this great loss.

About 5 years ago I moved to Georgia to be with my high school sweetheart, Jerry Bauer who many of you may know as he also played ball with Ken. I had kept in touch with Carole and Ken so when I told them I was in Georgia with Jerry they stopped to us on their way down to Florida. We also went to see them at their place in Florida. We had such fun and  it was so much fun to watch Jerry and Ken talik about the good old days. We are so blessed to have had these last few years renewing our friendship and we will miss Ken so very much. Hard for us to believe he is gone.   As you all and Jerry say. He was one of the good guys. Judy and Jerry Bauer

Comment from Jerry Bauer....

Like others that have posted here, I've known Kenny since the first year of little league baseball in Kenosha. It was 1952. Ken's talent on a baseball diamond was unquestioned, but beyond that he was just a nice person.

In the last few years Judy and I had some fun times with Ken and Carole and of course with Ken and I the discussion was usually baseball. On our trips to see them in Cape Coral, Ken and I managed to take in a spring training game or two, something we had in common and both enjoyed.

I tell this story about Ken that happened when I was in the Marine Corps, half a world away on Okinawa. I was reading the "Stars and Stripes" which is a newspaper published for servicemen out of the country. I happened accross an article about the then Red Sox third baseman, Frank Malzone, who was contemplating retirement. The article of course hi-lited his accomplishments and life. But in closing, the article cited a young third baseman in the Red Sox organization named Ken Knutson who would probably be his replacement. Needless to say Kenny's name jumped out at me. The article didn't elaborate on Ken's stats or anything, just that comment. I wish I had kept that paper and given it to Ken. When I mentioned the article to Ken, he couldn't believe it but it brought on one big smile from him.

In the last couple of years, Ken and I became very good friends. Judy and I looked very much forward to visits from Carole and Ken. Kenny was one of the good guys of the world and I'll miss him. To all of the people he touched, count your blessings. Your world has been better because of it.

Ken Key

Ken was such a great person, we were locker partners at Lincoln and KHS (of course, Ken Key and Ken Knutson it had to be.) We would often go to practice together, he for baseball and me for tennis the courts and the ball diamond were next to each other at Lincoln Park. I always had good thouhts about him and his successes in life. He will be missed by all who knew him.
