School Story:
1980 Boys KeyClub membership got caught up in the O.T.I.S. charade. (Organization To Inspire Spirit). Hats off to the cheerleaders for coming up with the words for the O.T.I.S. acronym minutes before the KeyClub float was to be judged prior to the Homecoming Parade. And yes, O.T.I.S. was plastered on all sides of the float. For the record, I believe the float placed 3rd. Apparently Mr. Karrels, (art teacher) didn't appreciate the hand gesture that was displayed on the promotional signs we posted in the hallways throughout the year. He just didn't see things the same way guys did. He took it upon himself to drop a dime on the KeyClub and informed Mr. Bianchetti, who chaired the Club meetings, what really was behind the O.T.I.S. campaign. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Bianchetti called a mandatory meeting for all members. Not a happy camper. He read us the riot act in his own special way. Thankfully nobody was expelled for the hand work. We almost pulled it off for the entire year. Years later I ran into Mr. Bianchetti and brought up the issue. Turns out Mr. hardcase really does have a sense of humor.
