Ethel Martin (Pries)

I had a phone call from Charlotte Vandemark yesterday. It is very difficult for her to speak, but she was her usual self - more concerned about me and my family than her own failing health.

Charlie:

Thanks for your message. I just read about Charlotte in paper this morning.  She was such a loving, caring person and I will miss our phone conversations.  I think her phone call to me Friday was to say goodbye.

It was wonderful to have such great attendance at our class lunch yesterday. That made a fitting tribute to Charlotte, who wanted so much for us to have these monthly lunches. It was good to have 4 classmates/spouse from quad-cities attend, also. Hope to see you all, again, next month.

We are still meeting at Cerno's for lunch on the second Monday of each month.   If there is a change, will let you know.   Hope more will consider attending.

Our regular lunch meeting for July 2015 (13th) will be at the 19th hole restaurant which is in the Baker Park Clubhouse.   This is a change from where we have been meeting.  I will also have this information in the Star-Courier, so I hope classmates will see it at one place or another.

Made a mistake on the dates. It is October 16-18 that Bill and I plan to be in Kewanee. We are indefinite about whether we will leave Sunday or stay through Monday. Hoping to find a motel for those dates. Will update as the time draws near. C

The restaurant at the golf course is closing for the winter at the end of October so we will now be meeting at Cerno's again.  This will start with the November 9th lunch.  11:30 is still the meeting time.                                Charlie Hainline

I am wondering why political ads are showing up on the Kewanee High School site.  I find this inappropriatel.

Kathy Varney (Bates)

I agree with Carole. Political ads are veryinappropriate and annoying.

It is also interesting to see an ad for a cruise line I have used multiped times before.

I hate to play dumb (even though that's relatively easy for me) and I don't at all disagree with what Carole and Kathy have posted....but I haven't seen any posts re politics nor cruise line advertisements.   Not that I mind, but am I missing something here?

To those either COMMENTING or COMPLAINING about ads appearing on the class website.
We NO LONGER pay an annual RENEWAL FEE to have this website with the server providers.
That DECISION was made by the COMMITTEE who I informed that without paying an annual renewal fee we would become a commercial site.
I was told that we would NOT be renewing the subscription.
In simple terms: The provider, is being paid by us ALLOWING them to place ads on on website.

Here are the rates. Should anyone want to send a check to George Guzzardo and the comittee and I will promptly update the website to a NON-COMMERCIAL "Class of 1960" version. - https://www.classcreator.com/pr.cfm

Let us NOT FORGET the OLD adage. "You get what you pay for."

Your beloved site admin.

I think ads are just fine. The internet is mainly ad supported, and I have occasionly found a product or service I was interested in and purchased.

Carole Wilmarth (Zissimopoulos)

Thank you for the clarification about the ads on the site.  What is the cost of a non ad site?

When editing one's profile there is not an option to change the address of residence.  How can we change the residence as I have moved?????????
