Laura Martin

Since I graduated from LCHS, I graduated from Stanford, then Harvard Business School, then had several jobs at Wall Street firms including Drexel Burnham Lambert, Credit Suisse First Boston, Soleil, and now Needham & Company. I have lived in San Marino since 1985, and I work from home. The only exception was a two-year stint working for Vivendi Universal and living in Paris, doing Strategy and Investor Relations. My French is better now than it was in high school. Dan and I have been married for 33 years and we have 3 children: 2 at Harvard now, and 1 at Polytechnic High School in Pasadena.

The most impactful memories I have of LCHS after 50 years include: Skiing with Liz Stattin and Chip and Robbie and Tom at Mammoth; Madrigals tour of California with Cheryl Hart, Becky, Scott McDonald, Tim Cruthers, etc; Drinking too much Gin at the Colorado River with Dave Owings, Nancy Bennett, Sheri Vickers, and the McDonald's closing crew; From the first day of sophomore year honors English, Susan Watson's pop quiz in-class essay 1st sentence -"The Panda sat in the eucalyptus tree contemplating the vicissitudes of life" (I still can't write that well, 50 years later); Winning a drill team competition; Eating cookie dough for lunch with Lynn and Jan; Girl Scout outings with Judy; and several memories of VERY poor decision making.
