Rich Outcault passed away Dec 14, 1999.  No one could figure out what caused his death, but the speculation was that he picked up some parasite from eating
fresh water raw fish in Japan.

Rich use to travel to the Far East quite often with his job.  He worked for Varian out of their office in Glouster, MA.  Rich would try anything, a least once and eating strange things was no exception.  He developed a problem with excessive fluids in his lungs that got so bad he went into cardiac arrest and died of a
heart attack.  One of his daughters called me, when he had been rushed to the hospital and I jumped on the first plane to Boston, but did not make it in time.

Rich and I had stayed in contact and were lucky enough to see each other 3 or 4 times a year.  He lived life to the fullest and was planning to retire soon and become a teacher.  He has two daughters who are very bright and both attend college in the Boston area.  He had been married to his wife, Marty, for about 27 years.

Rich Outcault died in Hamilton, Massachusetts in 1999. He had a rare infection in the lining of his heart, from what I recall, and died of heart failure.
