We have this notification from Penelope Simon Erickson:

Hi Garrett,

I have been trying to locate Rick Backer.  I sent an invitation to the second address on the list and got a nice email from the woman who lives at that address saying that she had lived there for 15 years. I found his brother on Facebook confirmed his passing.
