Attended UTC from '88 till fall of '91. I had a motorcycle accident my senior year that kept me at home for four months. I used the bike accident as an excuse to take a break. For the next few years, I was always going to go back "next semester".
While trying to decide what to do for a career, I purchased a computer and fell head first into computing. By late 1993 I was working at TVA in the IT department. I stayed in the computer field for 9 years eventually becoming the network administrator at US Xpress. It was there that I met my wife, Sarah. We were married in 1999.
In 2000 I left the computer industry (I still worked after hours a good bit on contract with US Xpress for a while) to open a music store in Ft. Oglethorpe. I had been day trading stocks for a couple years and saved up enough to pursue my dream of having my own music store. We've been going strong since then, and recently built a new store just off the I-75 East Ridge exit.
A few years back I decided that I would attempt to hike the entire Appalachian Trail. I have about 2000 miles of it done and should have the whole thing completed by June of 2017. A lifelong dream checked off! If interested, my (rarely ever updated) Facebook blog on hiking the AT can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/HumbuckAT
