After graduating from high school, I attended Mercer University and received a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education. I taught for 6 years at Ringgold Elementary. I married my husband, DeWayne in 1993 and had Emily in 1998. I quit teaching school and began teaching piano when Emily was born to be able to stay at home with her. When she started school, I returned to teaching in the classroom at Battlefield Primary School. I teach Pre-K there and I also teach 5 classes of Kindermusik at Jill's Gymnastics. I stay very busy with teaching along with being very involved in our church, Crossroads Church of Chattanooga, where DeWayne is Minister of Music.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their concerns and thoughts for my daughter, Emily. So many of you have asked how she is doing, so I just thought I would post a picture. For those of you who did not know, Emily was admitted in the hospital the day before our reunion and it was very hard to make the decision whether or not to attend under the circumstances, but with the convincing of my family and friends that she would be left in good hands, I made the decision to attend and was very glad I did. Emily suffers from Ulcerative Colitis where her colon is very inflammed and it got so bad that she had to be hospitalized. This picture was taken right before she got to go home (the day after our reunion). She is doing a lot better and we know that God has a special plan for her.
