I have talked with Glenn Marshburn, and he has no interest. Couldn't get him to budge. I have also talked with Tonya Boone, negative on her. I met Scott Barrow's dad at a recent party and forwarded his info to Lesley. Heath Akins will not be able to come, he enjoys the site. He came home earlier this year, and his job will not allow him to come again this soon. He is on active duty.
OK THIS IS A CALL TO ALL HAWKS!!!!!! WHO HAS STILL GOT THERE HAWK GEAR??? I STILL HAVE MY JACKET, AND MY FFA JACKET. LETS ALL WEAR OUR GEAR TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR THE SCHOOL!!!!!!!GO HAWKS
I saw Doug Craig last week on my way to work. I asked him if he was going to the reunion and he said he still hadn't made up his mind. I told him he REALLY needed to go, he said his parents tell him the SAME THING everyday. Maybe he'll come around. He said he's living in Pinetops and working at Sara Lee in Tarboro.
I've been catching up with some folks on Facebook but it looks like there's a lot more people here. Great job on putting the website together. Reading the profiles and looking at the HS photos has really got me thinking about the reunion but I'll have to work a small miracle to make it happen. Take care and stay in touch.
Well, if I can get my wife to get up with Wendi there will be two more attending. As far as the golf thing, Charlie I would have to be the caddy because I cann't play putt-putt without getting mad. Of course I probably will be late because I will be hunting but will try to break away early enough to not miss all the fun. The old store across from the school is vacant and boarded up because I live right across the street from it. Would be a good meeting place or we could always go right up the road to NL Mini-mart which use to be Billy Hardee's old store when we where going to school.
Reunion Committee - thanks so very much for getting everything planned and the website going. I know it has taken a lot of effort and time. THANK YOU! I have really enjoyed looking at the profiles and seeing all the great pictures. Wow fellow classmates! You all have some really good-looking kids! Hard to believe how old we all have gotten. I certainly feel old! See you all very soon!
Hi everyone!!! A few weeks ago I was a bit concerned that our reunion might have to be held in the NLHS parking lot due to lack of funds. Thanks to all of you that pulled through and mailed in your money. As of today we have 49 classmates coming along with 36 dates/spouses/ significant others. I have spoken with about ten more of you that have promised to mail me money this week. I have no doubt we will have over 100 people in attendance the night of our reunion. Please continue to pass along the information about this website. It has been so much fun checking in on everyone, seeing photos of your beautiful families, and reading about all your accomplishments. See you on the 29th!!! ~Wendi
If you haven't been to Kim Rhodes page... Go! She must have spent hours uploading photos. There is something there for everyone. Photos. Memorabilia. Even some good ole Frink stuff! Thanks Kim for a fun trip down memory lane!
Hi Guys, Can anyone remember who the guy was that was struck with appendicitis on our Senior trip. I can only remember him being taken to the hospital and not making the trip back home with us. Who was this person?
Hey everyone!! Yes, it was Craig! He ended up having surgery in Florida. Yep, we dated, married, had kids, and divorced!!! Oh well!! Thank you Reunion Committee for everything! :o)
I am so excited to let you know that we have 126 people attending our reunion! Yay! I know we are going to have a great time...see you on the 29th! ~Wendi
I have noticed in our school photos we are all toting our books in our arms. No backpacks. Are we really so old that they didn't make those back then? Or is that what kept us thin? If that is what did it...I may start toting books around again. I am just saying! Discuss.
I think we actually had lockers that we were allowed to use, and had time to switch out the books we didn't need. Have you tried to pick up your kids book bags these days? I bet they weigh close to 40lbs.
For those of you who have not checked out Mike Carlyle's picture......He will definitely be in the running for changed the most. I've known him since Kindergarten and didn't recognize him!!!
