I was a nerd in high school and could never get socially grounded. Remember coming right out of the 6th grade at Forest Hills and dropping into LOHS in the days before the junior high came online. I spent 6 years at LOHS with the rest of the '59ers, starting my senior year at the tender age of 16. After graduating from high school, I tried a couple of terms at PSU, then a year at OSU as a physics major, left to pursue my "professional bowling career", then 6 months active duty in the local National Guard, and ended up graduating from a 2 year electronics technical school in Portland, affectionately known as MIT, or "Multnomah In Town".

Lived & worked in Oregon until 1990. Moved to San Diego for a couple of years then back to Oregon. A couple of kids along the way and then added two more on a second marriage. 1st career, 25 years @ Tektronix, 2nd career, 10 years as a real estate agent, 3rd career, 5 years as marketing director in a software company. Four "kids" and eleven grandchildren. Now I spend summers in Oregon and winters in Las Vegas. Still water ski, snow ski sometimes, hiking here and there, cruise around Mexico & up and down the Baja, travel a bit, and just keep active.

The former was painted on the wall of a small restaurant in Yelapa, Mexico. I found it to be inspiring in my later years.

Probably my biggest influence in high school was my math teacher, Ms. Arnold, and my english teacher, Mrs. Spencer. The math I learned in high school gave me the technical confidence and skills to excel in the emerging computer world of the 1960s to present. Mrs. Spencer taught me I should study a lot harder and take care of homework. I probably wouldn't have passed senior english except I had 100% on all of the weekly spelling tests for that year.
