Henry Haberman

HABERMAN, Henry A. July 25, 1942 - September 7, 2017 Raised with wrenches in his hands in his dad's Marin repair shop, precocious Henry did a brake job for a teacher when he was only 12. He attended Marin Junior College for two years, served in the Army for three, owned an Arco Service Station for two, then was the shop foreman/service writer for Ross Automotive for three. In 1971, he became employed by Underground Construction for the next 24 years, going from mechanic to Equipment Division Superintendent, taking an early retirement in 1995.

Henry met Diane H. Davis in 1988, and they married in 1993. He helped in her General Contracting business, and they managed their properties and rentals. In addition, Henry continued to repair equipment and vehicles, receiving great satisfaction from a job well done. He had a genuine love for people, especially his friends, and was generous with his time and help. He didn't see problems - he saw solutions. Henry also liked prospecting for gold, deer hunting, wood cutting, his vegetable garden, and short excursions with Diane.

While packing for a gold prospecting trip, he died unexpectedly from a heart attack in the wonderful shop that he so loved. He is survived by his wife Diane H. Davis and her family, and his sister Darlene Liebscher and her family. Henry will be missed.
