Lifetime resident and well-known businessman of Las Vegas, Terry L. Bedford, passed away peacefully Aug. 25, 2016, at home, with his loving family beside him. He was born Aug. 2, 1949. He attended school at Sunrise Acres Elementary and Roy Martin Middle School and was a 1968 Graduate of Las Vegas High School. He started working at a young age at Meadows Market making $10 a week. Later in his teen years, he worked at Safeway. In 1971, he started working in the automobile business. In 1977, he opened Autos Unlimited and was the president and owner for 39 years. Terry also sat on the board of the Better Business Bureau for 20 years. He wanted to say in his own words, "He was in the business of drinking and chasing women." He was larger than life he enjoyed every moment of his 67 years. He was a good friend to all and loved by many. He supported the American Cancer Society and worked with the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada and he also was generous and donated to many causes when asked. Terry himself wanted to thank his close friend, of 45 years, Norm Jenkins, for the many years of friendship, advice and support. He wanted to mention the Bell family of Las Vegas, to this day he has missed his friend, Jim Bell, and looked forward to reuniting with him in Heaven. Terry said it best he is planning on selling slightly used wings in Heaven and to those interested can leave a deposit on Earth with Carlos, his manager, and we will take payments at Wings Unlimited. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Estelle Fredrickson; mother, Patricia Bedford Gaines; sister, Kathy Bedford Searles; and brother, Thomas Bedford. Terry is survived by his daughter, Teresa Bedford Oxborrow (Bruce); son, Scott Bedford; grandsons, Brandon Oxborrow and Miles Bedford; and sisters, Jane Jennings (Jim) and Gail Kaster-Inman (Bob). The family would like to thank Dr. Amit Valera for his compassion and care he gave to our father. Dr. Valera you always made sure Dad was treated like gold and took the upmost care of him. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Rose San Martin Hospital for your positive attitude to help Dad. We would like to mention Kindred Spring Valley and Divine Hospice for all of their team of care givers and support we cannot express enough appreciation. Visitation will be 10:30-12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, with service following, both Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside service following at 2 p.m., at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. N.
