David Harold Bond

David Harold Bond, age 64, passed away Saturday evening, August 31, 2013, at his home in Red Bud Park near Warsaw, Missouri.

He was born in Harrisonville, Missouri, on March 29, 1949, the son of Virgil H. and Peggy Lou Babylon Bond.

He grew up in Lee's Summit, Missouri, and graduated from Lee's Summit High School in the class of 1967. On September 4, 1968, he enlisted in the United States Army National Guard and took his Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. He served six years and was finally discharged on July 31, 1974.

On December 6, 1974, he was united in marriage to Janice C. McBride. Following their marriage they made their home in Lee's Summit until moving to Warsaw, Missouri, in March of 1995.

He was then employed as a marine technician at Long Shoal Marina near Warsaw for about ten years.

While growing up David was a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop #220 sponsored by the Lee's Summit Christian Church. He gained the coveted rank of Eagle and was an honorary brave in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was, also, a member of the Lee's Summit Christian Church.

David was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Harold Bond.

He is survived by his wife, Janice, of Warsaw, Missouri, and two daughters; Melissa Bond, of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Angela Bond, of Parker City, Indiana, along with two grandsons, Logan and Seth Felkins. He, also, leaves his mother, Mrs. Peggy Bond, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, four brothers, Larry Bond, of the state of Arkansas, Ward Bond, of Galmey, Missouri, Richard Bond, of Lee's Summit, and Daniel Bond, of Belleview, Nebraska, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the Lee's Summit Christian Church, in Lee's Summit. There will be a visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church prior to the services.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the David H. Bond Memorial Fund in care of any Hawthorn Bank or to a charity of your choice.

David was a good friend and always polite to all he came in contact with. he will be missed.
